Finding a title for the film proved to be difficult.
In fact, the working title at one point was Three Blind Mice simply because of the scene where the cast
sings it on the bus.
The wilderness filming location offered few sources of light. It is because
of this reason that a lot of the night scenes are dark and difficult to see. The bus-attack scene had to be filmed day-for-night
just so the bus was visible from farther away.
The film was shot in 1981, but was shelved because it couldn't find a distributor right
away. The film wasn't released until 1983 and only then got distribution due to the rising stardom of Daryl Hannah
and Adrian Zmed.
The UK cinema release, Campsite Massacre, is uncut. The video version, Final Terror, is cut by 27 seconds with edits to the opening murders.
