Two new Reviews/Secrets are up.  I went new age DTV for this update and decided to throw Evil Remains and Cut Throat at ya'll.  Do you think you can handle it?

I've got a new movie up under New Blood.  It's called Beg and it sounds like it'll be a big deal to us "slasher" fans.  The cast includes genre favorites Tony Moran, Tony Todd, Tiffany Shepis, and Debbie Rochon.  Check it out, spread the word.

Got a new link up.  www.horrorview.com it's a good one, you won't be disappointed.  In my opinon at least.

Still trying to restore Horrortopia to it's former glory.  Become a member, leave a post, drop a comment.  Every little bit would help.  Only you can prevent forest fires...or something...HORRORTOPIA!

March 10, 2009

Okay, first things first.  Reviews and Secrets are up for Blood Relic and Graduation Day.  I was hoping to throw a couple more films into the mix, but I decided to wait until the next update.

As promised I Can't Stop...Part II is finished and up under the "Slasher" Art section.  If you can't remember what happened in I Can't Stop, it'll be there for you to refresh your memory.  Personally, I think it's the business.

Got some great new "Horror" Site Links up.  www.buried.com is a great horror reference.  As is www.doomedmoviethon.com and www.eatmybrains.com.  Also check out www.shallowgraves.org, you won't be sorry.

One more thing.  I think I'm to the point where I'm serious about getting Horrortopia back up and running.  If anyone at all has time, stop by the board and drop a post or two.  It would mean your soul...I mean, the world.

It's official!  Don't Look Behind You's first update of the new year, and let me tell you there's plenty to go around.

First, let's talk "Reviews" and "Secrets."  I got four new films up for your reading pleasure.  First up, I take a look at the backwoods "slasher" Final Terror.  Then, I head into robot "slasher" territory with Hardware.  If that's not enough there's always Adrienne Barbeau in Open House.  Last, but not least, I take a look at the classic, Pieces.

There's a new "Slasher" Interview up with Bit Parts director Dave Reda.  I have to mention what a great guy he is and what a pleasure it was interviewing him.  He's also working on a new film that I touch upon in the interview.  Check it out.

Don't be afraid to visit my two latest links.  Under "Horror Sites" I've added www.letsscarejessicatodeath.net a fan site dedicated to the film in the address.  Also, under "Other Sites" I've added the great new site, www.scripttease.tv without a doubt check them out.  Oh, I'd also like to add that I've joined another Top 100 site.  If you have the time vote for Don't Look Behind You on Fright Night.

Other than that I've got a new picture up in Images under "Slasher" Art.  It's a collage based on a "stalking" pamphlet I found at my local courthouse.

I hope you enjoy and stay tuned for the next update.  I don't want to give too much away, but definitely expect to see a part two to my I Can't Stop story.

June 19, 2008

I found myself sitting in my basement today reading an e-mail about a new film called Frat House Massacre.  To say the least, I was intrigued.  The film sounded like a blast and I thought I should tell those who come to this site about it.

With that said, this update is for the new section I added.  It's called New Blood.  It's for all those films that come out that I feel deserve to be seen, especially "Indie" films.  Check it out.  I'll be updating it from time to time, depending on whether or not a film interests me.

What else...?  I joined another Top 100 list.  Horror Theater Video was kind enough to invite me to their's so if you get the chance, vote for me.

Other than that I've just been working a lot this summer.  Haven't had a whole lot of time to review.  I do have plans though, so don't worry and stay tuned.

Wow, it's been quite a while hasn't it?  Well, here you are, Don't Look Behind You's first update of 2008.  Damn it feels good to be back!  I shouldn't get too excited, though; this is just a glimpse of some of the things I'm working on.

Unfortunately I have no new reviews up, but I do have my first "Slasher" Interview with Craig Singer (Director of After Dark Horrorfest's Dark Ride) up and ready for your eyeballs.  I've also got two new links up.  I've got a new "Horror" Site Link, Palace of Horror, and an "Other" Site Link to Real Lyrics.  Let's see, I've updated my photo in my About Me section.  I got stills up in the "Slasher" Review section for Possession: Until Death Do You Part...That's about it.

You know, I'm not going to lie.  I've got a couple reviews and some other things I've been working on for this first update, but a certain contest made me want to push things along a little faster.

Emotional Syphon Recordings is a record label that was formed by Munky from Korn fame.  He wanted to create a label by the artist for the artist.  He wanted to give bands the creative control they deserve.  No lie, I've been listening to the stuff they've got for the last three days, and I love it more each time I listen to it.

If you're interested in the contest click on the banner at the top of this update.  If you're interested in the label check them out at:

...or you could just check out the bands by clicking on any of the links below.

Alright, I'm cutting it a little close, but I made it didn't I?  Things have been a little hectic over the last month.  I've finally decided to get my lazy ass off to school.  Unfortunatley that means that I had to uproot myself from Michigan to California.  Don't get me wrong, it's great...but it kind of puts a strain on things.  I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep the site updated monthly.  I have a seven day school schedual that involves rehearsals and dance classes.

With that being said I really wanted to make this a big update, but again the strain sets in.  The only thing I've got for ya'll are reviews/secrets for the Australian "teenie-bopper," Cut, the Video Nasty, Night Warning, and the understandably forgotten Canadian "slasher," Possession: Until Death Do You Part.  You'll even notice that the latter two don't even have screen shots...Sorry.

I hope you enjoy and if a don't get a chance to update next month, keep checking back from time to time to see what's new.

HORRORTOPIA!

July 16, 2007

I know, I know.  I decided to take June off without letting ya'll know.  I feel terrible about it, but I had a birthday last month, what can I say?  I turned nineteen, so you know I had to do it up...all month long.  In reparation for missing last month I've made this month's update a good one.

First off, I split the "Slasher" Art section like I promised.  Part one of my story I Can't Stop is up under the literature section.  I hope you enjoy it.

Next, I have two new review/secrets up.  I've decided to dedicate this update to a DVD-R distributor by the name of Horror Classick DVD (www.myspace.com/horrorclassicks).  I got hooked up with some sweet DVD-R's on a trade and I just had to give the guy a shout out for his great work.  Anyway, I've taken a look at both The Burning and 555.  I have to point out that under the "Slasher" Secrets on 555 there are actually Hidden Easter Eggs.  Now that's quality.

I also have a new "Slasher" Link up, Terror Trap.  Technically they're just a general horror site, but there "slasher" and Italian horror sections make them an ideal "slasher" reference.  Check 'em out.

That's it, but, of course...

HORRORTOPIA!

Stop on in and drop a post, it's getting pretty slow around there.  New members always welcome.

May 18, 2007

May's update, comin' at ya.  Not too much going on, but I did get two new reviews/secrets up.  I decided to hit up the Independent scene for this update.  Bit Parts and Sleepy Hollow High are up and ready for your viewing pleasure.

You know, I hate to say it, but that's pretty much it.  I've been tweaking small design flaws here and there, but I don't have anything else to put here.  I plan on splitting the "Slasher" Art section for the next update.  I want to start including literature instead of just images.  Keep an eye out (pun?).

HORRORTOPIA!

April 26, 2007

Yes, the rest of my April update has finally come.  Here's the skinny:  I got the two other reviews/secrets I promised up.  The Brad Pitt meets student body count, 80's cheese-fest, Cutting Class is up.  As well as the "Made for TV," quite enjoyable, film, Someone is Watching.  I've also got a Horror Site Link up.  Horrorfind, pretty much every horror site from films to ghosts.  Check it out.  If you do happen to stop by the Links page, peep the new site banner I made.  It's nothing fancy, but I'm pretty proud of it.  I've edited a few pages, but nothing major.  Still moving forward.

In case anyone was wondering, I did not win the severed boobs.  I did, however, win a copy of the film, Bit Parts.  I'm very excited about it.  Definitely expect a review for that one in the near future.

Well, that's pretty much the end to this odd April update.  Oh, speaking of odd.  I went to a Battle of the Bands the other night and I saw this great band.  They're called Oddfellow.  They're self-proclaimed Progressive/Indie/Rock, but they've got enough of a punk edge to make me a fan.  I got their CD, it's awesome.  If you're interested in checking them out, hit them up on My Space: www.myspace.com/oddfellowrocks.

Alright, now I'm done.  Except for, of course, HORRORTOPIA!  New members always welcome.

April 12, 2007

Okay, so here's the deal.  I know I promised three new films, but I got myself into something that caused me to do things a little differently this time around.  I only have one new review/secret up and it's for the Horrorfest entry Dark Ride.  Oh, and that new "Slasher" Art I promised is also on display.

Alright, so let me explain.  I still plan on getting those two other films up by the end of the month, but the contest I'm in is the cause for this mini-update (And the new "Slasher" Art).  www.horror-fanatics.com, along with Elftwin Films, has started a contest.  The top five people that do the most work to promote the film win a copy of the Elftwin release Bit Parts.  The person who does the most work not only gets a copy of the film, but a severed body part used in the film.  Guess what it is?  A pair of severed breasts.  If you're interested in entering, the contest goes until April 18th.  You can get in on it by visiting www.myspace.com/elftwin or www.myspace.com/horrorfanatics.

In Bit Parts, Dr. Cranston is a successful plastic surgeon in Los Angeles until his daughter is horribly disfigured in a car accident that he caused.  To ease his remorse, he tirelessly labors to replace the mangled features of his sweet Maggie.  Wanting his daughter to be perfect, Dr. Cranston seeks women with the "perfect nose," "perfect eyes," or "perfect breasts" for his daughter.  Seeking stardom, Melissa runs away from home, once again, to audition with her "perfect lips."  Big sister, Brenda, rushes to Hollywood in search of Melissa and enlists the help of a local cab driver and wannabe actor, Bobby.  However, the pair discovers that this time Melissa is in much more trouble than they realized.  If you want to know more check out the website, www.bitpartsthemovie.com.

HORRORTOPIA!  I still have to give it up for my message board.  Stop on in and drop a few posts.  We'll be waiting for you in the shadows.
